Light as Air: Unveiling the Infinix Hot Fifty Pro Plus!

Feast your eyes on the Infinix Hot Fifty Pro Plus, a smartphone that claims to be the lightest in 2025! Announced back in October 2024, it finally landed in hands in November 2024, and is designed to feel almost like picking up air.

Design and Build:

The Infinix Hot Fifty Pro Plus boasts incredibly slim dimensions of 164.1 by 74.4 by a ridiculously slim 6.8 millimeters! Weighing in at just 162 grams, it’s lighter than breakfast! It features a glass front, a plastic back, and a plastic frame, with the plastic contributing to its remarkable lightness without feeling cheap. The phone supports a Nano-SIM plus Nano-SIM setup and has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, meaning it can handle splashes.

Display:

Prepare for an immersive visual experience with its vibrant 6.78-inch AMOLED display, showcasing one billion colors! The screen offers a super smooth 120 Hertz refresh rate and 2160 Hertz PWM dimming for eye comfort during late-night use. It achieves a typical brightness of 550 nits and peaks at a respectable 1300 nits, ensuring visibility even under the glorious Davao sun. With roughly a 90.0% screen-to-body ratio, you get more screen real estate. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and offers a sharp resolution of 1080 by 2436 pixels, resulting in around 393 pixels per inch.

Performance and Software:

Under the hood, this featherweight phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G100 chipset, built on a power-efficient 6 nanometer process. It features an octa-core CPU with two speedy Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores, coupled with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. While not going to be a hardcore gaming beast, it should handle everyday tasks, social media, and even some lighter games without breaking a sweat. It ships with Android 14 right out of the box, with up to one major Android upgrade promised, and runs Infinix’s XOS 14.5 on top. Storage options include 128 gigabytes with 8 gigabytes of RAM or 256 gigabytes with 8 gigabytes of RAM, using UFS 2.2 storage. A dedicated microSDXC slot allows for expandable storage.

Cameras:

The rear camera setup includes a 50 Megapixel wide lens with an f/1.6 aperture and autofocus, which should hopefully capture some decent shots, especially in good lighting. It’s accompanied by a 2 Megapixel depth sensor for those fancy portrait mode shots and an auxiliary lens. Features include a Dual-LED flash for those low-light situations and panorama mode for capturing those beautiful Davao landscapes. Video recording capabilities go up to 1440p at 30 frames per second, with additional 1080p options at 30 and 60 frames per second. For selfies, there’s a 13 Megapixel front camera with an f/2.2 aperture and even an LED flash, ensuring your late-night selfie game in Davao’s bustling night scene should be on point. It can also record videos.

Audio and Connectivity:

The Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus has stereo speakers that are tuned by JBL, so we can expect some decent audio quality. It also supports 24-bit 192 kilohertz Hi-Res audio for audiophiles. However, there’s no 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS for navigation around Davao, and NFC with 360 degree support for contactless payments and other cool stuff. There’s also an FM radio. The USB port is Type-C 2.0 with OTG support.

Security and Battery:

For security, the phone incorporates an under-display optical fingerprint sensor, along with the standard accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass sensors. Powering the device is a respectable 5000 mAh battery, which should be more than enough to get you through a typical day of Browse, social media, and taking photos. It supports 33 Watt wired charging, promising to get you to 50% in just 26 minutes. Additionally, it offers 10 Watt reverse wired charging, so you can use it as a makeshift power bank for other devices in a pinch, plus there’s bypass charging, which is great for gamers!

Colors, Pricing, and Benchmarks:

The Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus comes in Sleek Black, Titanium Grey, and a really cool Dreamy Purple. The model number is X6880, and it’s priced at about 190 Euros. Benchmark scores include 436,283 on AnTuTu version 10, 1957 on GeekBench version 6, and 384 for 3DMark Wild Life Extreme. The display reaches a max brightness of 1190 nits, which is super bright! The loudspeaker measured at negative 27.1 LUFS, which is considered good. Active use battery life was a solid 10 hours and 54 minutes.

Is the Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus truly the lightest smartphone in 2025? It’s definitely a contender! And with all these features packed into such a light and sleek body, it’s definitely a phone to keep an eye on.
